Dress Size Chart

Between two sizes? We recommend sizing up for formal comfort, especially in fitted satin styles. On lace-up back dresses, the lacing lets you fine-tune the fit at the bodice.

All measurements are body measurements. Plus sizes are available on selected styles; check the size options on each product page.

How to Measure

Bust

Stand tall with your arms relaxed at your sides. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under the armpits and across the shoulder blades. Keep it level and snug, not tight.

Waist

Stand in a relaxed, natural position. Wrap the tape around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually just above your belly button.

Hips

Stand with your feet together. Measure around the fullest part of your hips and rear, typically 7–9 inches (18–23 cm) below your natural waist.

Height & Hollow-to-Floor

Stand straight with bare feet together. For height, measure from the floor to the top of your head. For long gowns, hollow-to-floor is measured from the center of your collarbones straight down to the floor (excluding any train). Compare it with the shoes you plan to wear.

Measuring tips

Measure over lightly fitted clothing or undergarments, not bulky layers.
Keep the tape parallel to the floor, and ask a friend to help if you can.
If your measurements fall into different sizes, choose the size that fits your largest measurement.

Fit Guide by Style

Sheath & Mermaid

Closer through the hips

These silhouettes follow your curves through the hips and thighs. Choose your size by your hip measurement, and size up if you are between sizes.

A-Line & Ball Gown

Fitted top, roomy skirt

The bodice is fitted while the skirt flows freely, so bust and waist matter most. Choose the size that fits those two measurements comfortably.

Corset & Lace-Up Back

Adjustable at the bodice

The lacing gives you control over how snug the bodice feels. Pick the size that fits your bust and hips, then lace to your comfort.

Satin & Chiffon

Know your fabric

Satin and liquid satin drape close to the body with limited give, so avoid sizing down. Chiffon and tulle layers are lighter and more forgiving.

Custom sizing is available on our formal gowns for a small extra fee. Submit your bust, waist and hip measurements at checkout. Custom-size dresses are non-returnable unless there is a quality defect.

Sizing Questions

What if my measurements fall between two sizes?

We recommend sizing up for formal comfort. If your bust, waist and hips fall into different sizes, choose the size that fits your largest measurement. A dress that is slightly roomy is easier to adjust than one that is too tight.

Do you offer plus sizes?

Yes. Selected styles are available in plus sizes 16W–26W, and the plus size chart is shown above. Each product page lists the sizes offered for that dress. If you are unsure which size to choose, email support@xalpheor.com with your measurements and the style name.

Can I change my size after placing an order?

Minor edits such as size or color are accepted within 24 hours after placing your order. Email our team with your order number. No changes can be made once production begins.

What if the dress does not fit?
